CAREER & STATUS

LAVANDA has received the status of CHAMPION!

Chic&Pride Lavanda — Our Golden Shaded Queen!
We are delighted to introduce Chic&Pride Lavanda. She is a stunning black golden shaded (BRI ny 11/25) British Shorthair queen. She proudly represents the golden program of Chic&Pride and Vlastar Lux Catteries. Born on 17 August 2024, Lavanda brings exceptional type, elegance, and charm to our breeding lines.
Lavanda is a beautifully balanced female (0.1) with a sweet, expressive baby-face, perfectly rounded contours, and a strong, well-developed head. Her huge, absolutely round emerald-green eyes are her signature feature—bright, vivid, and full of expression. She carries all the classic traits we value in a high‑quality golden shaded British. These include small, well‑set ears and a plush dense coat with warm golden tipping. She also has a calm, affectionate temperament.
Tetiana Taranenko (Chic&Pride Cattery) bred and owns Lavanda. She is co-owned with Vlasta Brodska (Vlastar Lux Cattery). Lavanda is an important cornerstone of our joint breeding program.
Lavanda welcomed her first litter in July 2025. The kittens were wonderfully typed with excellent eye color development. They displayed warm golden shades. With her pedigree, phenotype, and temperament, we expect equally beautiful offspring from her upcoming 2026 litters as well.
We are proud to have Lavanda in our cattery family. We look forward to watching her continue to blossom as one of our key breeding queens.
Health & Genetics
DETAILED INFO:
DNA Health & Genetic Profile
At Vlastar Lux Cattery, responsible breeding means much more than beautiful appearance.
We carefully select our breeding cats not only for type, temperament and pedigree, but also for health, genetic diversity and long-term breeding quality.
Lavanda has completed an extended DNA analysis panel at FERAGEN laboratory, including hereditary disease screening, blood group testing, coat colour genetics and important breeding traits.
DNA Health Screening
Lavanda tested CLEAR/NORMAL for all major hereditary diseases included in the panel, including:
- Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
- Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy markers (HCM)
- Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PK-def)
- Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA)
- Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome
- Factor XII Deficiency
- Gangliosidosis GM1
- Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis
- Multi Drug Resistance (MDR1)
All tested disease markers showed normal (clear) results.
DNA health screening is an important part of our responsible breeding program and helps us make informed breeding decisions for future generations.
Coat Colour Genetics
Lavanda carries several valuable and important genetic traits:
- Chocolate carrier (B/b)
- Carrier of longhair gene
- Point gene carrier (cs)
- Classic tabby carrier
- Non-dilute (D/D)
- No cinnamon gene detected
- CORIN gene detected.
According to her genetic coat colour results and CORIN findings, Lavanda is considered genetically BRI ny 11 (golden shaded) rather than ny 25, although ny 25 is currently indicated in her pedigree documentation.
These genetic traits are highly valuable for carefully planned golden breeding programs and future colour development.
Blood Group & Neonatal Compatibility
Lavanda has genetically confirmed:
Blood Group B
This is extremely important information for responsible breeding and neonatal kitten management.
Lavanda is planned to be bred with blood group A males.
In these combinations, kittens may inherit blood group A while carrying the recessive b1 variant from the mother.
For any future breedings involving a blood group B male, special information and recommendations regarding kitten blood compatibility will always be provided individually to future owners and breeders.
At Vlastar Lux Cattery, we pay close attention not only to genetics and beauty, but also to safe neonatal management and professional breeding practices.
Our Breeding Philosophy
We believe ethical breeding starts with knowledge, transparency and responsibility.
DNA testing allows us to:
- make safer breeding decisions,
- avoid risky genetic combinations,
- preserve breed quality,
- improve long-term health of future generations,
- and provide our kitten families with confidence and trust.
At Vlastar Lux Cattery, health testing is an essential part of our breeding program — not an exception.
