Detailed DNA Health & Genetic Profile

At Vlastar Lux Cattery, responsible breeding is based on transparency, scientific knowledge and careful genetic selection.

Queen has completed an extended DNA analysis panel at FERAGEN laboratory, including hereditary disease screening, coat colour genetics and blood group testing.

DNA Health Screening

Queen tested CLEAR/NORMAL for all major hereditary diseases included in the panel, including:

  • Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
  • Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy markers (HCM)
  • Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PK-def)
  • Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA)
  • Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome
  • Factor XII Deficiency
  • Gangliosidosis GM1
  • Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis
  • Multi Drug Resistance (MDR1)

All tested disease markers showed normal (clear) results.

This ensures a strong genetic health foundation for future breeding programs.

Coat Colour Genetics

Queen represents a very rare and genetically valuable golden line combination.

Her DNA results confirm:

  • Chocolate genotype (b/b)
  • Dilute genotype (d/d) → lilac base
  • Agouti (A/A)
  • Point gene carrier (C/cs)
  • Ticked tabby (Ti/Ti)
  • CORIN copper/golden BSH variant (wbBKH/wbBKH)
  • No cinnamon gene

Importantly:

Longhair genotype: l/l (longhair)

This means Queen is genetically longhair and can produce longhaired kittens in appropriate breeding combinations.

Colour Interpretation

Based on her genotype and phenotype, Queen is considered:

BRI cy 12 (lilac golden chinchilla/shell)

Her genotype expresses:

  • lilac base colour (bb + dd),
  • CORIN golden modifier,
  • strong wideband/chinchilla expression (12),
  • and ticked tabby background.

This combination produces:

  • very light, clean golden hair shaft,
  • minimal tipping,
  • soft pastel lilac-golden tone,
  • and elegant chinchilla appearance.

Blood Group & Breeding Compatibility

Queen has genetically confirmed:

Blood Group A (A/A)

She is not a carrier of blood group B variants.

This allows safe and flexible breeding planning with both A and B blood group males, with standard compatibility management.

Breeding Value & Program Role

Queen is an especially valuable female for advanced golden breeding programs due to:

  • pure lilac (bb dd) genetic base,
  • CORIN golden expression,
  • chinchilla/shell pattern (12),
  • ticked tabby structure,
  • longhair gene (foundation for BSH/BLH programs),
  • and clean health testing profile.

She is ideally suited for:

  • golden shaded & chinchilla programs,
  • lilac golden development,
  • longhair program expansion,
  • and precision color breeding strategies.

Our Breeding Philosophy

At Vlastar Lux Cattery, genetic testing is an essential part of ethical breeding.

We use DNA results to:

  • reduce hereditary risks,
  • plan correct genetic combinations,
  • preserve rare colour lines,
  • and maintain long-term breed quality.

Transparency and knowledge are the foundation of responsible breeding.
